Very enjoyable thriller with students at a private school all covering up their crimes from a drunken party where a fellow student is raped, and later commits suicide. The two main characters are brilliantly acted, and the remaining cast are passable. I have to say that this movie was very well written, really showing the difference between the bullies 'upper class' and remaining students.

Stylistic Australian thriller of riverting and thought provoking atomosphere. This is original enough to keep me on the edge of my seat, and once again its another extraordinary debut for an Australian talent

This is a handsome and stylish debut for Aussie director Ben C. Lucas. At times reminding me of schoolyard tragedy films like '2:37' or 'Elephant', or even 'Lord of the Flies' with it's deliberate lack of adult presence, this film comments on many issues with todays youth, lack of responsibilty, entitlement, and dis-enchantment, whilst not coming off too heavy-handed. Although the narrative gets lost at times within the time jumping fabric of the story, the impressive performances totally anchor the film while the use of colour and tone within the framework of the striking cinematography and the hypnotic soundtrack evoke a haunting atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Wasted on the Young is a slick and striking film that presents a disturbingly recognisable world of plutocratic rule in the dark heart of Australian society.

poor Ozzy teen partying drama flick that turns nasty. Wasted, for the young.
