Jess Franco is an underappreciated filmmaker. He is a true artist. This film is one of his better arty films. The gorgeous Slodad Miranda is hypnotizing!!

Simple plot, lots of camera zooms, ok acting and a super funky soundtrack, not to mention Soledad Miranda. For most this will seem like a terrible, low budget sexploitation film and that may be right but fans of the genre will love it.

Jesus Franco isn't a very good filmmaker, but somehow this wasn't too terrible. Listen for some awesome VERY dated 70s music (some appropriately mixed into Jackie Brown), and for both really sexy scenes and horrible vampire bits. It's more of a psychedelic soft-core than a horror flick, and for those looking for a faithful Stoker adaptation might as well chuck the DVD in the air and use it for skeet shooting. If you're curious, watch it once. If not, don't even bother.

Jess Franco dishes out one of the sexiest and most erotic vampire films of all time and sealed Soledad Miranda's role as a scream queen legend. Beautiful women, a fantastic soundtrack (supplied by the Vampire Sound Incorporation), imaginative camerawork, and symbolism make you ignore the lack of plot to this sexploitation film. Linda (played by Ewa Stomberg) is haunted by erotic dreams of dark haired women who she saw perform at a night club. On a business trip she meets Countess Nadine (Miranda, under the moniker Susanna Korda) who, coincidently, is that woman in her dreams. However, the countess is also a former mistress of Count Dracula and seeks to make Linda one of the undead. All of this, and some pretty nifty lesbian vampire action. Trust me when I say this film is far better than it sounds. Very stylish and very mod, this has become one of my favorite foreign films of all time.
