Its really refreshing to see a movie that doesn't rely on a love story but on two strong female characters who truly care about one another and everyone they are in contact with. The protectiveness that Rose and Lissa feel about each other, their friends, etc. is so inspiring! I was a fan of the books, but I'm purely looking at the movie here. It's VERY well made for the first installment of the Vampire Academy series. All the actors were spot on, the special effects were amazing and its a movie that not only girls will like, but guys will too. Go see it! The plot only thickens from here! :)

I've read the books and aside from the twist at the beginning and a couple other lil scenes here and there I thought it was spot on. I'm definitely going more than 5 Times

I read the books and I loved the movie....About half of these critics do not match the demographics for this type of story. (male...middle age...not into anything associated with vampire romance)

way better than i thought it was going to be, poor trailers... MUCH better watching the whole thing. VERY close to the books and story line. the overall acting is very close to what i pictured in the books. the actual faces... not so much. this was definitely a guilty pleasure even for those who haven't read the books. a little bit of everything. Action, adventure, paranormal, comedy, romance, mystery, drama... quite fulfilling if you ask me
