Uno Bianca (2001)

Rimini, 1991. For more than a year, the uno bianca gang - they always use a white Fiat Uno - has plagued the area. Their crimes are violent, sometimes killing carabineri, and there's no particular pattern: a bank one day, a petrol station the next, extortion of a small business the next. Are they terrorists? A foreign gang? Tied to the Mafia? After a particularly bloody shootout, two detectives are assigned to start fresh: they go through the notebooks of previous investigators and they interview a few witnesses again. They find a pattern in the crimes and predict the next assault, but the special task force in Bologna is dismissive. Can they carry on alone; how far will they get?

Definitely worth it for the shootout scenes.

Probably the greatest bank robbery movie of all time. Worth it for the shootout scenes alone, the dynamic between the cops and robbers is actually exciting. Michele Soavi directed cemetary man if you need an excuse. Do not read the plot because its awesomeness will betray you.

This is a pretty cool Italian detective flick similar in style to the television show "Miami Vice". With good action, nice DP work and some solid acting, this is an interestingly smooth cop drama. Although nothing really new is added to the time honored cop drama (as it was made in 2001), it is based on true events and the two disc set moves at a quick pace. All in all this is a solid, yet predictable piece, that is worth a rental sometime if your in the mood for tense Italian detective work.
