It seems that masked men are knocking over the floating crap games of Chalky and Pete. Chalky and Pete hire the cool, loose, elegant Mr. T to fix things. Then, the masked manipulators set up the death of a collector for a rival gang lord. It looks like it's up to T to hold a gang war from breaking out, keep the police off his back, and earn his fee from Chalky and Pete.

Classic blaxploitation starring Robert Hooks and a funky score by Marvin Gaye, allong with memorable quotes and the coolest use of product placement by Coca Cola.

"T" is a crtified badass. Righting the wrongs and fighting for the people in a south central ghetto. Fighting whitey's oppresion. This went above and beyond my expextations of a blaxploitation movie. It delivered a sound story supported by badass action scenes and an insanely good Marvin Gaye score. Superbad and super awesome. Probably the best blaxploitation film ever. And he drives my dream car, a 1972 Lincoln Mark IV.

This movie took me by surprise. I've seen quite a bit of Blaxploitation films, and seeing the trailer for Trouble Man, this didn't look all that different. Yet as the movie went along it kept its bad-ass quality while providing me some laughs, some pure 70's filmmaking errors, and some high quality 70's filmmaking gold.

Akcja toczy siÄ? w latach 70-tych, kiedy to protagonista Mr T, osiedlowy czÅ?owiek od rozwiÄ?zywania problemÃ³w, zostaje wplÄ?tany w intrygÄ?, ktÃ³rej tÅ?em sÄ? porachunki gangsterskie. TrudnoÅ?Ä? w jednoznacznej ocenie tego filmu sprawia fakt, Å¼e jego najsÅ?absza strona jest zarazem jego atutem â?? mianowicie gÅ?Ã³wny bohater. Mr T jest twardy jak adamantium, bystry, jak MacGuyver i czarny. Ewidentnie gÃ³ruje nad wszystkimi innymi postaciami czy to policjantami czy gangsterami, czy biaÅ?ymi czy czarnymi czy kotami czy rybamiâ?¦ Problem w tym, Å¼e przez to ma siÄ? wraÅ¼enie, Å¼e jest nietykalny i niezniszczalny, co powodujÄ?, Å¼e film siÄ? dÅ?uÅ¼y trochÄ? i przynudzaâ?¦ widzowie wiedzÄ?, Å¼e nawet, gdy przegrywa i to i tak wygrywa (np. w bilard). Having finally seen this film decades after only hearing Marvin Gaye's wonderful soundtrack, I was disappointed that it turned out to be as stylistically dull as a typical 1970s crime drama TV show. Essentially, the film tells a generic story without very much artistic license on the part of the director. If I'm going to sit through a predictable plot, at least give me eye candy to watch while I'm listening to great music. If this is ever re-made, I hope Marvin Gaye's soundtrack will be used again to create a moody 1970s "film noir" truly deserving of the music. Apart from that, I thought Robert Hooks was great in the leading role.
