Too Many Crooks (1959)

Accident-prone Fingers runs a pretty unsuccessful gang. They try and rob wealthy but tricky Billy Gordon - who distrusts banks and fears the Inland Revenue - but he sees Fingers and the boys off. So they decide to kidnap his daughter, only to end up with his wife Lucy. Gordon makes out he couldn't be more pleased, spuring Lucy to take charge of the hopeless bunch of villains.

Too Many Crooks is strictly of that surface order, but it's a good, crazy, brisk farce comedy.

Uneven slapstick Brit comedy that is sometimes funny if you have a taste for the humor of Terry-Thomas.

absolutely amazing British film. Terry-Thomas was a genius and his contribution to comedy should never be forgotten. also the supporting cast are superb as well, especially bernard bresslaw who is hilarious. i really wish films this good were still made.

A bunch of small time crooks try to rob a city gent (Terry Thomas) of his money. They mistakenly kidnap his wife - much to Thomas' delight!! After all these years it's still funny and that is down to the wonderful writing and the genius that was Terry Thomas
