At first it seems like an odd choice for a documentary, but Takei manages to be interesting enough and godamn likable enough that he carries what could be a rather bland film. He's led a more interesting and more important life than most actors, and it was interesting to hear about his struggles for reperations for Japanese internment (which he experienced as a child) and gay rights. We also see Takei's story as an Asian in Hollywood, and his unexpected role as a king of the internet. Takei is one of the most delightful personalities in Hollywood, and even if you don't think you'd be interested in his story, his charm will make you interested in a story that is actually worth hearing.

Here's a great documentary about an amazing human being, his struggles in a Japanese interment camp, his early career and political activism, his resilience in the face of adversity and his great sense of humor. He's been one of the most influential public icons in recent memory. And even at 77, has a lot of life and love to give.

Pleasantly surprised. I didn't think the documentary could be very interesting, but I was wrong. Discussion about being placed in a Japanese internment camp, his acting history, Star Trek, and many other topics. His diverse history makes for an interesting story. It's definitely worth a watch.
