Actually quite enjoyable for a 1914 comedy film.

The first feature length comedy of all time includes standout performances from Charles Chaplin (as a villainous city slicker), Mabel Normand and Marie Dressler. Although a delight for fans of silent cinema and Chaplin, this film may be tough for an average viewer to enjoy as it is somewhat slow paced and quite dated in it's storytelling.

Albeit old fashioned and laced with slapsticks, it was the first full length comedy film. Although a significant feature in the history of cinema, the humour was outdated. You can only see someone slipping, spilling and falling for so long.

"Tillie's Punctured Romance" is blessed with an inspired storyline and a couple of great sequences towards the end, but, at seventy minutes, it is too long.

Not so much Chaplin's movie, so thats disappointing, must have been sort unknown at the time. Chaplin made great movies in the '20s & '30s like "City Lights", "The Kid", "Modern Times" & "The Gold Rush"
