Thunderbird 6 (1968)

The International Rescue team is faced with one of its toughest challenges yet, as the revolutionary lighter-than-air craft Skyship One is hijacked while on her maiden voyage around the world. Against backdrops including the Statue of Liberty and the Sphinx, Lady Penelope, Parker, Alan and Tin-Tin fight the hijackers from on-board, while the rest of the team tries to stop the airship crashing.

cult classic. Its a little corny, but fun.

The final Thunderbirds outing sees Jeff Tracy ask Brains to create a sixth Thunderbird for their rescue operations. With no specification to work from, Brains is faced with a frustrating challenge to meet Jeff's requirements. Meanwhile, Lady Penelope, Alan, Tintin and Parker are travelling on Brains' new airship, Skyship One around the world, where they come across a plot to capture the secrets of International Rescue. A decent enough film for its time with fun for everyone and a dramatic rescue at the end. Thunderbird 6 doesn't quite hold up to the previous movie but still delivers more about what Thunderbirds is than the dismal 2004 live action film.

this was actually quite a good film. the second spin-off movie from the brilliant T.V. show, i really hope it worked well with the audience, because it does deserve praise. the excellent animation, setting design, the magnificent soundtrack, is only let down by an extremely unlikely ending, but still was an 'explosive' finish to a good film.
