There need to be more films like this, if only so the LGBTQ kids seeking them out will realize how normal their own experiences are.

There’s so much going on in Three Months, so many emotional pieces in motion, but very little of it is particularly moving.

The contrast between Caleb and Estha remains the movie’s greatest asset. Their relationship grants room for the audience to witness and appreciate their differences, not just culturally, but as fully drawn individuals.

Troye Sivan gives a stellar performance in this must watch film. It is hard to believe that this is his first leading role since he was a kid as he is able to excel in bring forth the emotional complexities of a teenager waiting to find out if he is HIV positive. His chemistry with his co-stars Viveik Kalra, Brianne Tju and Ellen Burstyn is entrancing. This wonderful coming-of-age dramedy is an important step in tackling and ending the stigma around the disease. It is incredibly clear how much love and dedication was put into this film by writer and director Jared Frieder. A great film to laugh and cry to.

Cute movie. I was in a similar situation to Caleb's once, so that probably helped. Didn't need the obligatory conflict with bff and grandma. Could be shorter. Captures the 2010s aesthetic pretty well, feels real. Troye Sivan is one of the most beautiful human beings. I enjoyed it.
