That this doesn't knock one backward out of one's seat is maybe unavoidable. But the goods here are good enough to make one eager for more.

Every time I read critics for horror films I feel too many people's Holier Than Thou attitude is a bit overwhelming. This is a nice film with a nice twist, with a nice pace and a more than decent twist. Over all an enjoyable film.

I don't know what all the fuss is about, 'The Ward' is great. Carpenter is more stylish than ever, making essentially his Argento film, and is true to the atmosphere he's known for. The third act, while having a flawed ending, ratchets up the suspense, gore, and visuals. While the script isn't the greatest, it's good to see Carpenter back making the style of movie where he can showcase his talents and scare and entertain for 90-minutes.
