The Wanderers (1973)

Follows the fluctuating fortunes of three ronin in feudal Japan who wander from castle to castle, selling their services to whichever lord will fill their rice bowls. Though they use the servants' entrance, they still feel themselves bound by the samurai code of Bushido; and this tension leads to tragedy.

I probably get more of a kick out of this movie than most, owing to the fact that my dad really was a ducky boy when he was a kid, a friend of his was in the Fordham Baldies, and it all takes place around my old neighborhood in The Bronx, but even without the personal references, this is a great movie about New York in the early 60s, based on an even better book.

50s gang nostalgia shot comic-book style; although the heros have wide-eyed innocence, you might like this if you like The Warriors--"Don't fuck with the Wongs!"

Watched this movie hundreads of times. Basicaly me and my mates tried to live it as teenagers in the 80s. Brings back a lot of memories and what a cool sound track. Fully recomend this movie.
