Just in from seeing this. An Australian couple travel to India to collect a baby girl they are adopting. Great story and rich expose into Indian culture. Well worth seeing.

The Waiting City is a beautifully crafted bitter-sweet exploration of a functional but near-broken relationship exposed by this perpetually functional but near-broken city.

Although a little loose in parts, this is a good film, quite a high quality drama for an Australian Production. The backdrop of India was fantastic and this film shows what I found an honest portryal of many of indians life, it's pretty rough. The character development in the film is fantastic and both Radha Mitchell & Joel Edgerton did a really good job, I was pleasantly surprised. This film effectively takes you into the physical world of India and the world of the film's couple. Very impressed for an Australian film indeed.

Cue the parade of local colour -- women in saris, decaying buildings, sunsets over the Ganges -- and the inevitable transcendental experience.

Once again Australia proves that we make decent movies and brilliantly talented stars rise from our crops!!
