The Violent Kind (2011)

One night at a secluded farmhouse deep in the Northern California woods, a small group of hardened young bikers and their girlfriends are tormented when one of the girls becomes savagely possessed and a gang of "Rockabillies" seemingly from the 1950's descends upon them to collect what is growing inside her.

interesting idea... but it didn't really pan out so well, got boring and just gross... not worth the time

Aside from skinny young bikers that I never see in real life, this was an original supernatural film. The acting isn't great, the budget certainly wasn't expensive and casting could've been better, but the film maintains eerieness that stays somewhat unexplained and gave me a creepy feeling.

[tries to be tricky, but] at the end of the day it is still torture porn.

Amid the seemingly endless Tarantino references, there's not much of anything else behind this movie.

Strange, bloodthirsty, at times interesting, film which rather too readily glorifies wanton brutality. It's hard to sympathise with the biker gang who inadvertantly find themselves the victims when the first part of the film sets them up as violent and brutal thugs. The switch mid way to an Evil Dead meets Last House on the Left scenario is not entirely unsuccessful and some interesting visual ideas are explored.
