After all the ponderous heavy breathing, it has nothing more profound to say than “artists should not neglect their families in pursuit of excellence.” Which might not ring so false if Bentley didn’t constantly look on the brink of devouring his family alive.

There are some very negative things that I could say about this film, but the film resonated a bunch for me. The "TOP" critics that panned this movie are the typical cynical bastards as usual. Not into real art - only bang'em up films without a soul. This film has a soul and wants to be felt. I enjoyed it. Note - the visuals are quite good, the cinematography is quite good.

I watched this movie, as, a full Moon, dressed calm ocean, within light, reflection of, artists dancing, within the night. Precious.

There reaches a point... at which the film settles into a deliberately-paced yet completely watchable groove, with the emphasis on the relationship between the two men ensuring that The Time Being ultimately succeeds as a low-key drama.
