it's all very slickly realised... but the sheer number of mood swings, double crosses and narrative twists eventually becomes exhausting, while making it impossible to engage with the protean players or to care much who eventually comes up diamonds.

Well this is a nice surprise! Top of this fabulous cast is the very charismatic and talented Yun-seok Kim, the king of the Korean box office currently, Lee Jeong-jae whose comeback appearance is the first in over 5 years, along with many other big box office actors of Korea. This cleverly written script gives each character great amount of screen time so none of them get lost within the story and we learn about each one and why they do this for a living. This is a great film that is way cool, funny, entertaining, with lots of action. I loved the scene where they are chasing, shooting, and running (sort of) all while hanging on the side of a building. Great stuff and pure, wonderful entertainment. Now.....that's a movie!!! This one was a huge box office hit in Korea, grossing over $7 Million! Its running time is a little long, but well worth every action packed minute, with clever sexiness and wit interwoven throughout. Good time!

Starting off slow, but eventually rising to a smart, sexy, and thrilling status for the majority, "The Thieves" is essentially Korea's "Ocean's Eleven" but with an added dose of great Asian action, particularly in it's climax. Make it past the first 30 minutes and you will start to really enjoy the film's fun and dynamic characters, it's story full of twists and turns, and it's overall all fun factor which is never lost in translation.

Very entertaining! Dodookdeul is the K version of 'Ocean's Eleven'. A version that's is on par and even suppress Eleven in some areas. Heist that happens in the backdrop of Macau, with a good mix of action, laugh, romance, twist and turns. Slow at the beginning and goes in high tempo once it hits the 2nd act. Gianna Jun rocks. Recommended.

The Thieves South Korean caper film directed by Choi Dong-hun with ensemble cast. Film is currently the second highest grossing movie in Korean film history. Chinese veteran thieves in Hong Kong join gang led by South Korean master thief, in a heist to steal diamond. Film offers an additional asset of comedy essentially. Interesting and sweet characters, with clumsy feelings of romance. Here comes another film, long-waited genre from South-Korea 'Caper - Heist film'. Film unintentionally put similarities to Hollywood caper Ocean Eleven, however this offers several twists at the end, on the contrary the direction mentions previous inspirations from his films The Big Swindle and Tazza The High Rollers. Excellent cinematography enliven the stunts performed on high-rise buildings' walls. Vivid locations to bring coolness to your eyes. Extraordinarily enjoying and one of great surprises from Korean-cinema.
