The film looks amazing, but the writing is painfully pretentious and the acting beyond stiff and amateurish, so it’s impossible to gain a foothold into this story.

The Texture of Falling is a bizarre and controversial film that left me immediately wanting to watch it again. It unravels an intricate web of a plot that is incredibly meta, and left me thinking about things on a quantum level. It taps into different aspects of sexuality and relationship processes, crafted in a way that reveals layers I never would have seen coming. It's ability to both tap into the parts of my psyche that are curious sexually, while triggering me too, it left me feeling expanded. I look forward to watching it again with an understanding of it's workings to pick up on the intricate subtleties that surely await. I can't wait to see what comes next from Maria Allred!

A visually stunning and thought provoking film. The cinematography and visuals were magnificent and truly shows testament to the film makers' vision. The characters are marvelously multidimensional and delicious in their occasional amorality. An extremely original and twisty story line, I found myself trying to guess the outcome and was pleasantly surprised that I did not see what was coming at the finale. After a few different viewings, I was still finding morsels of intrigue that I did not see the first time around. Its a fantastically unique film that I definitely recommend, especially to those of artistic temperament.

I attended the NYC premiere of The Texture of Falling and thought it was a very interesting film. A real brain teaser. I'm still thinking about it.

I just watched this film at its Saturday night opening in NYC and I have to say, it is pure art. I found myself laughing often, which I felt sort of bad about, but there was a lot of offbeat humor and in general the way it was presented had an underlying humorous tone, but offbeat. I am only saying this here because I spoke with writer/director Allred after the screening and told her that and she said it was one of the best compliments she's gotten. It is an unusual film and won't be for everyone, but I felt it was pure art.
