Ben Kenigsberg 10 Dec 2015

The subject matter makes The Tainted Veil much more visually interesting than many issue-oriented documentaries, though the thriller-like score goes too far in trying to counter dryness.

Martin Tsai 19 Oct 2015

The Tainted Veil resists taking a stance, and both sides of the argument are compelling and persuasive.

Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat 11 Dec 2015

A documentary on opinions swirling around Muslim women wearing the hijab.

Avi Offer 13 Dec 2015

A timely doc that opens up a lot of issues for post-discussion. You'll never look at a hijab the same way again.

Frank Scheck 09 Dec 2015

Rambling and unfocused, The Tainted Veil fails to do justice to its important subject matter, which the film itself seems to acknowledge toward its conclusion.
