cannot really understand even after watching the "Making Of". However, I like the feel of craziness...

Beautiful, but sometimes more complex than it needs to be.

A really fascinating film, quirky and yet very intriguing. A lot of the stories are genuinely just tales of love, very different types of love, husband and wife, a mother and child and another different husband and wife, one of them is both wife and mother and we see basically a criss-cross series of events, where a women finds another and then something happens in another. It was very startling after a while and you sort of realize a lot as the non-linear story just goes forward, with the shot being a powerful element in narrative and character development.

A beautiful display of Chinese cinematography. Jiang never disappointed. The plot is not up to everyone's taste though
