The relationship between father and son is terrific..highlighted by his attempted to understand his son.

It is pleasant to see Russell Crowe, who usually portrays overly masculine characters, play a gay character as it shows his sensitive and gentle side. And it would be great to have a dad like the one here who is very understanding of his son's sexuality and totally unashamed of who his son is. The father and his son also have such a close bond and a healthy relationship. Besides that, the film is quite average and the self-reflexivity makes the film seem less realistic.

russell crowe puts in great performance in a very dated flick. loved all the aussie quips. nice little not-super-cheesy movie.

This is a good little movie... of self discovery plus a sweet father and son relationship...way before Russell Crowe became a big screen icon.

It's a good movie but there's one thing I couldn't accept: Russell kissed and touched another guy....heartbreaking
