An exciting picture, solidly based on one of the fiercest Western issues--George Marshall--Glenn Ford Classic; One Hilarious Western Satire!!

Watching Leslie Nielsen in a straight role is always interesting, it's Glenn Ford who provides the few comedy moments in this better than average, although routine western.

The always reliable Glenn Ford is perfect for the part, but the film is stolen by the shifty W.C. Fields windbag misanthropic comic character portrayal by Edgar Buchanan.

Sheep rancher Glenn Ford feuds with evil cattle rancher Leslie Nielsen. Shirley MacLaine is the cowgirl love interest they're also battling over, in this rather uneven mix of western action and bits of comedy. There's a good supporting cast of western regulars, including Slim Pickens, Edgar Buchanan and Pedro Gonzalez Gonzalez, which also helps. It's not the greatest western, but the cast makes it worth watching, particularly seeing Ford do a little bit of comedy.

I went through that whole movie without realizing that was Leslie Nielsen. I spent all that time instead trying to figure out where I recognized Glenn Ford from. It wasn't until a week or two later that I realized he's the guy from the Slap a Bitch demotivator :D
