Saw it on Netflix and was in love!! This movie gave me the Creeps!!!!

This movie is a lot better than what the reviews are giving it. The first half of the movie is incredibly edge-of-your-seat scary! The second half is scary too but more interesting and captivatingly scary. Overall, I'd recommend this movie. Just because it's scary and interesting.

It was a good movie. It's been quite some time since I have come across some decent horro movie which leaves you satisfied as well as startled. I mean nowdays all the major horro movies depend on jump scares while this movie dives deep into the relationship between the men lost in the woods and the protagonist's guilt. Overall, I would rate this movie at a 7 out of 10. Mainly because the pacing was right and I'm a sucker for nordic lore.

One can compare every movie made today to a number of previous movies and thus rate it by comparison. Or one can take the movie by itself. Senn thus, The Ritual is fanstastiv. Excellent acting, splendid photography and ... atmosphere. Anyone who has been in a deep Northern European forest will confirm that there is an eerie element to it.

Just had to write a review for this film as I really couldn’t fault it. One of the best horror-thrillers I’ve seen in a LONG time. Some might say the beginning or premise is clichéd but the story has quite a few genre twists that will keep you guessing. Great acting, suspense, adventure, intrigue and chills. At times it very much reminded me of a Guillermo del Toro film! Netflix scored well acquiring this one. Watch it.
