Brilliant and singular. Totally original and captivating. An extremely compelling study of our relationships with the dead in our societies. A global crisis told on a local level. Intimate and moving. Highly recommended, the definition of art house horror.

The facebook 'Movie Info' for this is useless. The movie IS about people returning to life after having been dead (sometimes after 3-4 years of death). But, to really enjoy the film, you have to understand it's not horror. The dead are more physical embodiments of grief. They play out the different stages of grief for their loved ones - Denial, Anger, Withdrawal, Depression, etc. It's a good film that way, too. It accurately tells the story of human grief, in a VERY unique way. On a side note: My mother died when I was 15. For years afterwards I had a reoccuring nightmare that she was still alive, but had been hospitalized for psychological problems. This movie so much reminded me of those old nightmares. It really rang true. The last stages of grief are letting go.

The story of one town dealing with the dead coming back to life. No bloody massacre or even the slightest hint of zombies feasting on the living. Instead they have to figure out how to house them and whether they can return to their old jobs. It's a pretty slow movie and there isn't much excitement until the end. If you're looking for something different give it a look just be aware that it is not a horror film.
