Chaplin's timeless masterpiece is, alongside Keaton's 'Sherlock, Jr', the best mid-length film ever made. Big heart, flawless pantomime and perfect mise-en-scene are just some of the reasons I've often jokingly referred to 'The Pilgrim' as the 'only six-star film in existence'.

This excellent comedy was a transitional film that led the way to Chaplin's greatest films.

An escaped convict is mistaken for the new pastor of a Western town. As with most Chaplin shorts it's basically a series of gags strung together - but built around a slightly stronger than usual plot.

On a certainement vu mieux de la part de Chaplin, mais si certains gags sont plutôt facile, certains sont bien pensé. Toutefois, rien de bien mémorable quand on compare à d'autres coups de génie qu'il a pu offrir.
