Loved this movie. Great story telling every moment. Sadly, it reminded me of my own marriage in the USA.

la pietra paziente è qualla a cui noi scegliamo di raccontare i nostri più profondi segreti, paure, difficoltà..essa se ne carica e finisce col frantumarsi, liberandoci..la giovane protagonista, costretta a assistere un marito in coma che nn la rispetta nè le dà affetto, rende quest'ultimo custode dei suoi segreti e..un duello tra la sofferenza del coma, la sofferenza del ricordo delle umiliazioni subite come donna..un'intensità che fa riflettere..

The premise is simple, but the stories we hear are anything but. In a war-torn country, a woman takes care of her comatose husband. While doing so, she eventually tells him how she really feels about their life, she confides secrets, and she shares dalliances. It is yet another reminder of the societal role of women in other cultures.

Better to think of this as a star vehicle for Farahani, who almost single-handedly carries the film; the range the Iranian actor displays here proves that she’s destined for bigger things. Fans will just have to be patient.
