Minor leaguer Carlton Garret takes an unexpected road trip to track down his estranged father, legendary baseball player Kyle Garret when Carlton's mother becomes sick. Once reunited, Carlton struggles to deal with the series of misadventures caused by his father's antics. Attempts at bonding come to a head as the mismatched duo make their way from Ohio back home to Houston to reunite the family.

It's a low-key road movie that doesn't stray far from the very, very beaten path.

The picture contains a few inspired moments of antagonism and redemption, but it's hard to get energized about a feature film that positions Timberlake in a leading role. The movie practically begs for more Bridges.

Just another movie for the good but not great pile. I generally like Jeff Bridges and Justin Timberlake and whilst they were okay here, the movie is just not as memorable as you would hope for two such solid lead actors. This movie is good enough, but not one I'd go back to.

not a great film by any standards. very formulaic and ordinary with nothing outstanding, besides the always interesting jeff bridges. i have admitted in the past that justin timberlake is becoming a semi substantial actor, but unfortunately he didn't come off that way in this. he seemed whiny, aloof, and entirely unlikable. kate mara was cute as usual, but not enough to elevate this film.

Not even Jeff Bridges can save this. No one can. Writing is terrible, Justin Timberlake is horrible... movie is just meh. A lot of going no where... which is obviously the problem when your film is about a road trip.
