well i certainly agree that these people could've been smarter... however i don't think it's as bad as everyone else thinks it is either. sure the story isn't great, but the acting is fine & i thought the suspense was really great. the jump scares got me & i didn't want to shut it off at any point so i think it's worth a watch.

Honestly surprised so many people didn't like this so much they would give it a bad rating. While the dialogue was a bit crass and at times to indicative of the overall plot, the development of the movie played out smoothly and did an excellent job setting the tone. Not to mention the homage to classic horror where you literally never see the "entity" until it's nearly over. Also quite the satisfying ending!

I'm a big fan! Slow burn and the savage ending is up to interpretation which I liked a lot.

The trailer was amazing! This was a movie I wanted to see. Full of surprises, twists and mystery! But the movie didn't meet the expectations of the trailer. The trailer had ALL the best pieces of the movie. Over all its a 5 out of 10. Could of been a lot better.

it gets a 6 for the genre from me though i wouldn't want to be home alone while watching it again.not because it was too scary but because it was too boring.. I did however love the originality and the hot mom and all that. as well as the way it pretty much ended in the part of the basement that was really the scariest part of the house if you ask me. i like the way that the guy was so sneaky and elderly woman so scary and the way the black guys death was extra creepy but the shivering kid was just overkill or annoying to shiver for that long and who would blindly walk around a creepy house instead of protecting your mom from dying? bit of a tip of the hat to the prisoners search party scene at the end there. its almost like the guy was teaching the kid to be a better runner..
