The Nine Lives of Fritz the Cat (1974)

Fritz, now married and a father, is desperate to escape the domestic hell he now finds himself in. Lighting up a joint, he begins to dream about his eight other lives, hoping to find one to provide a pleasant distraction. The drug-induced journeys he takes include spells as an astronaut, Hitler's psychiatrist, a courier travelling in hostile territory during a race war, and as a pupil of an Indian guru in the sewers of New York.

Now I realize this wasn't made with the cooperation of either creator Robert Crumb or director of the original Ralph Bakshi, but I have to admit that there was alot to like about this under-rated sequel. The genre of mid-seventies american adult animation is a narrow one, but I think this easilly takes it's place alongside some of Bakshi's films, even out-doing some of them. Before you dismiss it as the un-wanted step-child of the original, check out the funk, the fun, the attitude, and the political incorrectness of a bygone era. They don't make cartoons for big kids like this anymore, and now is the perfect time to bring them back

I can't believe I watched the 2nd one and liked it more than the first

What a ridiculous adult cartoon, but still I can't look away.

The animation seems more forceful, but thankfully the quality of music carries over from the first movie.

Carried over from R. Crumbs Fritz the cat chartoon charactor. A Sequel to "Fritz the cat". Just as sexually provocative, racially charged and politically hopped-up as the original.
