The Munsters (2022)

Lily is a typical 150-year-old lovelorn vampire who's looking for the man of her nightmares -- until she lays her eyes on Herman, a 7-foot-tall green experiment with a heart of gold. It's love at first shock as these two ghouls fall fangs over feet for each other in a Transylvanian romance. Unfortunately, it's not all smooth sailing in the cemetery as Lily's father has other plans for his beloved daughter's future, and they don't involve her new bumbling beau.

The Munsters is a wholesome labor of love that’s probably for the most diehard sitcom fans because for better and worse, Rob Zombie makes the Munsters reboot he wants to see.

Scout Tafoya 27 Sep 2022

A completely innocent, at times screamingly funny movie that’s mostly about an idealized world made of '60s cultural icons, a slicing of reality’s fabric so we might step directly into Zombie’s visions of his past sitting in front of the TV.

Rob needs to stop casting his wife in every movie. Also, Munsters is best as a series. Rob should have created a limited series. Oh well....

Al Shipley 27 Sep 2022

As an extended aesthetic exercise with purposefully cheesy jokes, it might be nice if The Munsters had anything to say, anything at all.

A Prequel to One of Rob Zombie's Favorite TV Shows, and It Shows, is Called "Labor of Love." He Clearly Put Extra Time Into the Details and Minor Elements of This Underrated Throwback to the TV Series that Aired in the Middle of the "Monster" Fad of the Late 50's and Early 60's. Without a doubt, the craze was sparked by the massive magazine hit "Famous Monsters of Filmland" by Forest J. Ackerman (debut 1958). Well into the 1980s, The Influential, Fun, and Fantastic Mag was published. Along with "The Addams Family," "The Munsters" was a popular television series that even spawned a feature film, "Munster Go Home" (1966).
