Although Ginger Rogers really couldn't be mistaken for a 12 yr old in this movie I loved it because Ray Milland was adorable as the major whose only excuse for accepting her as such is a bum eye.

Entertaining film starring Ginger Rogers in Billy Wilder's directorial debut. Rogers is sick of New York so she decides to move back home out west but she can't afford the train ticket so she disguises herself as a 12-year old. Unfortunately, she has to stay in character for longer than she planned. It's easy to accept Rogers as a kid, especially because she plays off the other characters so well, including the funny cadets who keep trying to hit on her. She and Ray Milland are great together. Some very funny moments and a clever script, this is a harmless and entertaining comedy, a nice first film for Wilder.
