Mirren and Sutherland make this a film that's impossible to write off.

So sad that this movie received such poor reviews from audience and critics. I think that it is a movie which affects you on an individual basis. My marriage is 47 years old. My wife and I celebrate our anniversary this month. My father suffered from dementia. The love affair between these two was beautiful. Donald Sutherland hit dementia right on the nose. The lack of memory was exactly how my father was in his last years. This was several years. Looking as an outsider to this relationship related some very funny scenes. My wife an I attend afternoon matinees as they are very inexpensive. Using AT&T Two for Tuesday, we both attend for around $4.00. At 1:00 P.M. on a Tuesday, the theater was filled with seniors. We all laughed through the entire movie. I am a rare senior. I doubt that the other senior citizens in this theater will even write of their experience. If over 65 with a strong marriage, you should enjoy this movie. If not, you will probably not get the movie.

A 70s something couple take there aging motorhome on a long ride trip to the Florida Keys. They both are seeking relief from their Afflictions. Old pros Hellen Mirren and Donald Sutherland are convincing in their roles while the rest of the cast appears to be bystanders called in at minimum wage. There are too few laughs that would have made this a better film. But in the end Mirren and SutherlandSutherland raise relevant Questions.

I loved it and disagree with the reviews Iï¿ 1/2(TM)ve read here. Sure itï¿ 1/2(TM)s sentimental and predictable (the end of life is..!) but I personally found this a touching and honest portrait of a truly loving relationship and the reluctance to leave each other at the end of their lives. I thought both Sutherland and Mirren were magnificent.
