The Killing of John Lennon (2007)

The film follows the travels and accounts of Mark Chapman (Jonas Ball) and gives the watcher an insight into his mind. It starts with him in Hawaii and how he does not fit in with anyone including his job; family; friends etc. He says he is searching for a purpose in his life and that it has no direction. He seeks refuge in the public library where he finds the book, 'The Catcher in the Rye'. He becomes obsessed with the book and believes that he himself is the protaganist in the book, Holden Caulfield. He believes the ideas in the book reflect his own personal life and how he does not fit in anywhere and he reads it constantly. He then finds another book in the library about The Beatles singer John Lennon and begins a personal hatred for him.

didnt like the style of the movie. too artsy. but compared to jared leto's CHAPTER 27. id rather watch this. at least he really looks like a psycho killer. creepy and disturbing!!!

I'm only really reviewing this because no one else has and it will make me feel special!!! Its a very interesting and seemingly accurate portrayl of Mark Chapman. Stunning, almost hypnotic visuals, although keeping you firmly in Champans world for the whole 114 minutes is a little jarring!

Maybe if it didn't steal so blatantly from "Taxi Driver" (like, actual dialogue from the movie is stolen from it) I would've liked it a lot more. It's one thing to have influences, but don't just outright steal, it's lazy. Camera work was good, though.

The only revelations in The Killing of John Lennon are those we could have picked up ourselves, assuming we cared enough to do so.

I love The Beatkes and John Lennon. The masochistic in me really want to see this movie..... I think the lead actor does a terrible job....i´ve read a lot of books about him... The movie is really slow...that is its problem, but the portrayal of that motherfucker is really close to what i read... Still watchable....
