labradors covered in blankets aren't all that terrifying, but an hour and 10 minutes of hilarity deserves a high rating.

This dated b movie may be lacking in budget and high quality performances, but is one of the better examples from the era. The action is entertaining as a group of people stranded on an island try to escape the terror of THE KILLER SHREWS (i.e. some dogs dressed up in masks and rugs... it looks better than you may think).

yet another horror movie where the black guy dies first! the plot, so much as it is, is that scientist are trying to fix the population explosion by making shrews bigger (dont ask me how that works). the shrews turn on their masters and its up to the great white sailer to get them the hell outta there. the shrews are bloodhounds wearing fur coats, and for closeups, you've got paper mache puppets. the acting is terrible, the cliches are plentiful, and the script is hillarious, unintenionally. i love this movie. its so bad its fun to watch. there's a colorized version for those who whine about the black&white format (it's actullay not a bad job).

Why are the actors standing around talking and drinking for almost all of this movie? The ending has some exciting moments, but they're kinda crazy too. This is a pretty bad excuse for a film.
