The Holy Girl (2004)

Amalia is an adolescent girl who is caught in the throes of her emerging sexuality and her deeply held passion for her Catholic faith. These two drives mingle when the visiting Dr. Jano takes advantage of a crowd to get inappropriately close to the girl. Repulsed by him but inspired by an inner burning, Amalia decides it is her God-given mission to save the doctor from his behavior, and she begins to stalk Dr. Jano, becoming a most unusual voyeur.

tengo tantas cosas que decir sobre esta pelicula que solo voy a optar por decir que es una de las obras con mas personalidad que se hayan visto por estos lares durante mucho, mucho tiempo. El cine de Martel no escatima en detalles: todo esta bien preparado, nada puede salir mal. El clima que maneja la pelicula es tan perfecto, que al espectador no le cuesta dejarse llevar por una narracion extraña, tipica de Martel. Silencios largos, miradas que dicen mas que palabras, planos tremendos...Sin vueltas, un lujo.
