[An] enjoyably morose and tragic tale of love and betrayal and tea.

It was well done but damn what a depressing story. I felt so bad for Ricky and would have liked to have seen some kind of happier ending. Then again he was a cheater so maybe he didn't deserve one.

Peter Keough 01 Jul 2003

By the time Bettany walks through the blitzed streets of London, defeated and transcendent, he's put in one of the more affecting performances of the year.

Carla Meyer 27 Jun 2003

Rote drama better suited for British television than theaters.

How, one wonders, do movies like this still get made? Does everyone just turn up one day, and refuse to go home until a cameraman arrives?
