I don't watch many independent films, but "The Happy Poet" was a pleasant surprise. It's a funny movie worth watching.

It's just smart enough to fully enjoy. It's a sweet movie.

Kam Williams 24 Mar 2013

A male variation on Lena Dunham, a meandering, Mumblecore meditation on relationships by a guy with a masters degree and a meatless food stand.

Jesse Cataldo 18 Mar 2013

Like its sad-sack main character, whose closed-off personality makes him hard to fully understand or sympathize with, The Happy Poet is too reservedly rough around the edges.

Prairie Miller 29 Jan 2014

A cutting edge social satire about vegetarian pushcart power. And how work, or the lack of it, informs our lives. Along with the struggle to survive in hard times, while serving up poetic revenge subversion of the Hollywood happy ending with relish.
