With no attempt made to even explain the basic rules of Go, this is essentially a study of forehead-kneading concentration, of how to shut out even the most tempestuous of world events.

The rapturous camerawork and Chang Chen's performance as Wu both delight, but there's little insight into what makes a game about white and black pebbles so utterly absorbing.

any movies by chang chen is my spiritual food, anyway the go master is slow, but beautiful enough. if u are someone who love biographical and legendary, don't miss it.

well... the good is to treat histroy fairly and respect master Goh as a master, unlike Beautiful Mind that twisted John Nash as a freaky psyche. but the rhythm is really really slow. u could say it is to cope with the spiritual level, or mood, of the master, but even as a very patient audience, i still couldn't stand with it.
