The Glass Shield (1994)

J.J. is a rookie in the Sheriff's Department and the first black officer at that station. Racial tensions run high in the department as some of J.J.'s fellow officers resent his presence. His only real friend is the other new trooper, the first female officer to work there, who also suffers similar discrimination in the otherwise all-white male work environment. When J.J. becomes increasingly aware of police corruption during the murder trial of Teddy Woods, whom he helped to arrest, he faces difficult decisions and puts himself into grave personal danger in the service of justice.

wow just seen this movie 4 the 1st time n think that this is a really powerful movie 2 watch...its got a really good cast of actors/actressess throughout this movie...i think that ice cube is brilliant throughout this movie,,,i think that the director of this Action & Adventure movie had done a really good job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect throughout this movie its a really good Action & Adventure movie 2 watch

An absorbing and underrated genre film with something to say about familiar topics -police corruption, racism, sexism, civil rights. Strangely the film succeeds even though it doesn't have much new to say about these topics. Quality performances lift this above the merely average. Good stuff from Boatman as a black rookie cop trying to break into an all-white (and all bad) police department, Ice Cube as the justifiably surly victim of wrongful prosection for a murder he didn't commit, Lori Petty as Boatman's and a number of others. The plot's a good one though the ending is a bit abrupt. Caught this one on the Independent Film Channel, 7/12/08. You might find it there too.

A pretty good Police Drama about how once again the white man has done the black man wrong. Still Story line worth 4 stars
