The story of the credit bubble that caused the financial crash. Through interviews with some of the world's leading economists, including housing expert Robert Shiller, Nobel laureate Joseph Stiglitz, and economic historian Louis Hyman, as well as Wall Street insiders and victims of the crash including Ed Andrews - a former economics correspondent for The New York Times who found himself facing foreclosure - and Andrew Luan, once a bond trader at Deutsche Bank now running his own Wall Street tour guide business, the film presents an original and compelling account of the toxic combination of forces that nearly destroyed the world economy.

Sington tackles the unenviable task of making economic theory digestible to Joe public by interspersing talking heads with punchy animations that illustrate without patronising, though the jargon quotient remains high.

I just watched this last night and I have to say it's a very clear and concise explanation of what caused the 2008 Crash, and the 2007-present economic stagnation worldwide. Causes range as follows; wealth inequality, easy credit being used as means to fill in income gaps for middle and lower classes, supply-side economic doctrine which has dominated our political discourse for roughly 3 decades, and so on.

A collection of ideas organized around "the flaw" in Alan Greenspan's thinking. Nice Michael Moore inspired use of retro film with some interesting analysis. If the subject matter interests you I found 'Inside Job' to be a more compelling viewing experience.
