The film’s action scenes are masterpieces of stately choreography, with elements of humor incorporated.

The real selling point is the fighting, and if you're a fan of fighting with knives, The Final Master has got you covered.

What the hell did I just watch? I am completely confused. Three stars purely for the great choreography.

Odie Henderson 02 Jun 2016

As for the fights: There are plenty of well-choreographed battles in The Final Master. The award-winning choreography eschews wire work, keeping the action sequences squarely on the ground.

Sean Axmaker 16 Dec 2017

It's an interesting theme with historical resonance-the filmmaker suggests that the failure to share power and knowledge left them vulnerable to invaders-but a confused story that gets lost in the subterfuge and machinations.
