Ethan called this "the best documentary I've ever seen." And yet, he rated it 4 stars. He is a tough reviewer. I'd give it a 3.5 probably.

A timely look at keeping dangerous wild animals as household pets. Sometimes it takes a tragedy -- a person getting killed -- to bring attention to this issue. This important and well-researched documentary can serve the same purpose. Highly recommended.

This is a very shocking film that offers a peek into the world of the exotic animal trade via shadowing an officer, Tim Harrison, charged with capturing escaped/released large cats, venomous snakes, and any other dangerous species that are loose. We also follow the tragic lives of a pair of lions kept by a private owner and see first-hand the bonds that are formed and broken when he is no longer able to provide a safe, healthy environment for the full-grown animals. It is troubling to see the poisonous snakes people are able to acquire and the difficulty those involved have in coordinating placement for large cats and snakes with legitimate shelters. There are just too many people getting these types of animals for pets who later are unable to care for them. It makes you realize that many people are incapable of anticipating the responsibilities associated with owning a dangerous, exotic pet, making it imperative that we get laws on the books to control this industry.

Excellent documentary!!! I have never been affected by a movie in this way!! Being a parent of 2 young children, has really opened my eyes to what and how many dangerous animals may be in or around your neighborhood without your knowledge until it may be too late!! Hopefully this will open the eyes of millions and put pressure on authorities to have better control with restrictions!!!

Incredible movie. I'm against owning exotic animals as are the people involved in making this film. The thing that I respect a lot is, Michael Webber showed that even though the movie doesn't support exotic animal ownership, they help those who aren't willing to give up their "pets" learn how to properly care for their animals and do what they need to do to make it. I understand some parts were extremely controversial and most did not approve of the seen involving "Lambert" the African Lion. I have personally met Webber and Harrison and I can assure you they did not want to include that scene but they knew they had to to do justice for both sides of the story. Excellent documentary. Scattered at times, but excellent information. Keep in mind, it is a documentary, NOT a movie. Its about the information, not the action.
