Okay, so words "Directed by Fred Durst" may seem somewhat terrifying, but it was a good first shot. The melodrama, however, was ridiculous.

Decent indie drama with some good performances, but nothing extremely profound or more than that...one of the critics cited below summed it up well "A film that succeeds at being good without really succeeding in being worthwhile."

I slow burning film that never really goes anywhere. Nothing too memorable about the film but at the same time is not a dreadful movie. For Freds Durst directional debut it isnt half bad and could of been a lot worse.

*** (out of four) Effective, though ultimately messy drama that proves to be intelligently thoughtful and sadly overcooked. In a great perforamce, Jesse Eisenberg is Charlie Banks. During a high school party he witnesses Mick (Jason Ritter), a local bully, severely beat up two guys. Charlie calls the cops, but recants his story soon after. Two years later at college Mick shows up and Charlie thinks that he is there suspecting that Charlie had turned him in. Most of the film works really well. The dialogue and situations are well constructed as the themes touch on people trying to be comfortable in places where they don't fit. These are very touching moments. However, the story circles back to Mick shady past, losing much of its momentum.

Subtle, great movie. I was not expecting Jason Ritter to suit the role, but he did a great job.
