In the near future, due to a breakthrough scientific discovery by Dr. Thomas Harbor, there is now definitive proof of an afterlife. While countless people have chosen suicide to reset their existence, others try to decide what it all means. Among them is Dr. Harbor's son Will, who has arrived at his father's isolated compound with a mysterious young woman named Isla. Not sure on the hate. Same vein as The Arrival, but less money. Worth a watch or two. I'm in on McDowell.

Not your typical Hollywood FX ridden spectacle with Michael Bay explosions every 2min. Instead a quiet, thought provoking profound intellect of a film that asks the question: is there an afterlife? Jason Segel, Robert Redford and Rooney Mara deliver. It's a slow crawl but give it time. Hints of Eternal Sunshine and the Spotless Mind.

The film's ideas feel less formed once you peel past its high concept. Still, what's there is likely to keep you thinking about it after the movie's end, and that makes it easily worth exploring.
