An exceptionally powerful film driven by contradictory forces.

This movie is a powerful account of the genocide raging in Darfur, Sudan as seen through the eyes of former Marine Captain Brian Steidle who witnessed the attrocities and was powerless to stop them. It horrifies us and epitomizes his helplessness. This movie needs to go mainstream...

Too often the movies view the problems of Africa through Western eyes, but "Devil" turns that weakness to a literal strength, because Steidle could do nothing in his position except take photographs.

A very well though and cleverly laid out documentary that hits every single key point it sets out to address. It educates you on the history of the conflict in Darfur and shows in as frank a manner as possible the atrocities occurring to which much of the world turns a blind eye to. Also points an accusing finger at the global superpowers that claimed "never again" after Rwanda as well as to the inadequacies of the UN. The still shots woven into the movie further inflames the passions and leaves you angry, helpless and feeling responsible. One of the few movies that I believe might actually make a difference if enough people were to watch it. As one of the banners say "Smoke the Janjaweed. Save Darfur!"

A very graphic, very disturbing film that will haunt everyone who views it. The current situation in Sudan is a terrible humanitarian crisis and I applaud Brian Steidle and the filmmakers for bringing some truly astonishing and horrifying images to the screen. This is one of the most powerful films I have seen in recent memory and it is certainly one of the best films of 2007!
