Would probably have never watched this film if it wasn't recommended to me. This is not the sort of thing that I would normally just pick up at a movie rental place or flip to on TV. But I watched it, and can definitely see the classic horror film elements in it. The story is about as sci-fi as you get with killer plants and the whole world going blind at the same time. The graphics wern't good by any means, and lots of mini-stories of single characters were never mentioned or had any reference to other parts of the film. The camera lighting and color use in the film was rather bothering as you never quite knew what you were looking at. That could have been part of the confusion and overall idea, but I wasn't a huge fan.

This is another great movie!!!! Mayb old, but it has everything!!!! Suspence, gore (a lil bit) And a bit of humour. Surprisingly the special effects are good!!!

one of my favorite early childhood memories. triffids are almost as bad-ass as alligators. i had a dream i remade this with Ellen Page (aka Kitty Pryde) -- only in the dream she actually became a triffid 2/3 of the way through and commenced to nibble on people. oh, she was also a cool translucent amber color and had buck-tooth fangs and was prone to melodrama, but that's a whole other story.
