A fast-paced crime film, brilliantly directed by Claude Lelouch, that rewards you for getting through the first 20 minutes with some of the best chase sequences ever put to film.

Rarely seen top flight crime thriller/character study from Claude Lelouch starring the always magnificent Jean Louis Trintignant in the title role. Wel worth seeking out.

Essentially a French fluff piece (does Lelouch make anything else, really?). Strictly entertainment. But at least it's amusingly, stylishly, intelligently done. Superficial section: Trintignant looks good and Francis Lai's score is catchy.
