Solid film noir, great score, good cinematography. Robert Cummings may not have been the best person for the lead role, but the supporting cast is very good. Suspenseful and interesting.

Brad S 14 Apr 2015

Pretty decent up until it's just talking for what seems like forever between the main dude & chick.

Donald J. Levit 10 Oct 2013

Not so ingenious and engaging as other, Chandler-esque convolutions.

Dennis Schwartz 19 Aug 2001

This film noir is memorable for its dark dream-like feel, as reality becomes indistinguishable from the dream sequences.

Bruce B 11 Apr 2012

Superior surreal, dreamy B grade noir. Really dark cinematography and fantastically cool and creepy performance from Lorre. An early example of slipstream, where reality and dream are indistinguishable a la Memento, Lost Highway etc.
