This is a story with many different lessons to be learned. On the surface, the story is about the relationship between a father and his "adopted" son. But this story shows so much more than that! You get to see how both of them grow psychologically throughout the story and it's absolutely beautiful! There were so many emotionally moving elements to the story, which is why the movie was so long in length. Without giving anything away, there are multiple lessons to be learned in this masterpiece of a film, and it takes the audience on a journey of self discovery. The whole experience was breathtaking and the visuals were stunning. I highly recommend you watch this movie and see for yourself just how phenomenal of a journey this story will take you on.

Even though a particular subplot in the second act doesn´t connect well with the main story and the villain (while interesting) feels rushed, this is still a great movie, with remarkable animation, two great protagonists, fantastic action sequences and just generally being a pretty fun movie with effective emotional moments, i really recomend it.

Creative as always with the storyline and the build up. Awesome creativity for action and not to mention the total good guy having to much power but strength to build and become great.

Anime enthusiasts will enjoy The Boy and the Beast, but so will anyone who appreciates a good fantasy yarn.

This was my first Hosoda film that I watched, and I really enjoyed it. A brilliant coming-to-age film that playfully addresses the outcomings of a child, in the perspective of a bakemono or a beast. I would suggest it, for anyone needing a good coming-to-age comedy plus action to see.
