While Taurus does eventually get around to making a point — something about how the toxic combination of fame, addiction, and the music biz can destroy a young talent — it feels for most of its 98-minute run time like a plotless meander through one dude’s very awful week

With its uneasy and never-resolved conflict of interest between music star vehicle and music star drama and its lack of much at all to say about life, music or the creative process, Taurus ain’t rising anytime soon.

100% predictable train wreck that is still worth a watch. It's less a coherent movie and more a sad experience. It's harder for those of us with family with substance abuse deaths to watch this character circle the drain and OD. That being said the music is oddly catchy and parts of the movie stick with you. The acting is pretty solid too. This is the first machine gun Kelly anything I've looked into and I was pleasently surprised. Sad I had to watch him OD (in the movie) to notice him. Still....The fact remains. At the end of the days it's a movie about a privileged, musician, drug addict, that acts like an **** and dies from an OD. Nothing gained nothing learned. The machine carries on....

The warts-and-all honesty that Baker brings to the table doesn’t prevent Sutton from repackaging his story as a simple cautionary tale about an industry — and a society — that will fatten people up just to eat them alive. At least it’s a tale that Baker lived to tell, and refused to let anyone else tell for him.
