so much better than munich...rod steiger is creepy..."what do you mean it's not legal, it's perfectly legal" to think so

1972: In the aftermath of the massacre of Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympic games Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir orders the Mossad to retaliate. A team is put together under the Mossad Officer Samuels (Rod Steiger) and headed up by a young soldier named Avner (Steven Bauer). Avner and his team hunt down the members of Black September only to learn they in turn are being hunted. Not as good as "Munich" but still a good telling of the story (a fictionilized account of true events). The acting is deceint, though this was originaly a made for TV movie, thus it can feel a bit meandering at times. Still worth a watch.

A well acted HBO movie from nearly 30 years ago. The acting is very good. The story is based after the horrible events at the Munich Olympics in '72. Not fully believable - these 5 guys appeared to have it too easy - but the story is intriguing. The movie would have been better by cutting out the last 20 minutes or so, but still, a very good political drama.

Same story as Munich, released earlier on of course. Done really well for the budget they had. No real big actors, but decent ones, nonetheless

Why did Spielberg feel the need to remake this. Spielberg essentially made a more polished, and more violent version of this film. Many scenes were identical to the original.
